Grandmaster Ip Ching was born in 1936 in FoShan, China.  He is the youngest son of Grandmaster Ip Man (Bruce Lee’s teacher).  Ip Ching began learning Wing Chun from his father at a very early age, but when Ip Man left FoShan to move to Hong Kong, Ip Ching stayed behind with his mother in China.

In 1962, Ip Ching moved to Hong Kong to live with his father and to continue his Wing Chun training.  Ip Man taught from his home, and Ip Ching assisted him with his classes.  Ip Ching continued to live and train with his father until Ip Man’s death in 1972.  Ip Ching still lives in the same home with his family and still teaches in Hong Kong, passing on his father’s Wing Chun system.

In the summer of 1997, Master Li moved to Canada, and he now lives and teaches in Vancouver, British Columbia.
